Have the same problem on windows: two kritas 2.9.11 and 3.0 run simultaneously(openGL high quality on) and with the same file. 2.9.11 pan and zoom smoothly, 3.0 has noticeable lag and not smooth at all. @katearcher89@yandex.ru Nice to see that you can reproduce my issue... Can you give yours hardware specification ? mine is i7/gtx965m/16gb ram and win7 system. So it is totally not the case of an underpowered machine. @katearcher89@yandex.ru It's interesting that this bug also appearing on far more powerful PC than my... We both have Nvidia GPU, Win 7, Intel CPU... Maybe this bug appearing only on this kind of hardwares + Windows OS... @katearcher89@yandex.ru I discussed today with Dmitry (Krita's dev) and he showing what can be a issue: Turning off: 'View >> Instant Preview Mode'. Looks like after turned off these I get smooth navigate ! Can you also try these workaround ? Slightly better but still noticeable lags in paning and zooming. @katearcher89@yandex.ru Hmmm... Sad news... Can you try also these testing on version of Krita with the same settings what you using (these version of Krita also has Instant Preview - would be cool if you will try with enabled and with disabled Instant Preview) ?: http://files.kde.org/krita/windows/krita_2.9.10.2ae_beta_x64.zip (In reply to eliotJ from comment #7) > @katearcher89@yandex.ru > > Hmmm... I have tried all three versions and results are pretty same: 2.9.11: nice and smooth 2.9.10 beta: nice and smooth without Instant Preview, with it it become a little laggy but barely noticeable. 3.0: not smooth at all with or without IP(without a little better but not that much to make a difference) *** Bug 364874 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 100451 [details]

at Putra Arif Prasetyo: <boud> "the last 3.0.1 dev build is slower than 3.0 -- because it doesn't have Vc". This is the answer why do you have noticed slow down between 3.0 and 3.0.1. *** Bug 367602 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I'm sorry, but after all this discussion -- this simply isn't something we can resolve as a bug report. It clutters up bugzilla, but we cannot take action on it in any way. Between 2.9 and 3.0, we changed the version of the toolkit, which no doubt has an influence on performance characteristics, as well as a whole lot of other code. But we cannot go back to Qt 4.8... |
