I have KDE running on OpenSUSE Leap 42.1. I am using Plasma (which is gorgeous).

The problem I am having is when the screensaver times out. When I press a key, the screen comes on again. However, the mouse cursor has disappeared. The bottom half of the screen is now blank. When I move my mouse, the split on the screen moves up and down. Below the split, the screen is blank. Above it, the screen looks normal.

The computer is new
The computer has dual monitors (both are affected the same way)
I can forward you some images:
1. My usual desktop 
2. After the screensaver turns on and I press a key. The cyan section moves up and down with mouse movement
3. What logging out looks like after I ctrl-alt-backspace. The pink section moves up and down as the mouse moves.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Allow the screensaver to timeout
2. Try using the mouse

Actual Results:  
At this point, the computer needs to be re-started. If I am using a text-based program like VIM, I can continue working on the part of the screen I can see. Any other program that uses a mouse no longer responds. By using ctrl-alt-backspace, I can log out. However, I cannot re-boot without a mouse. The only thing I can do is turn the computer off.

Expected Results:  
The screen should resume its former appearance and I should be able to continue working.
