The question is when that should happen but I agree just blowing up the icons to an insane size next to each other is a waste of space. Created attachment 166059 [details]

I'd like to add that when the panel is vertical, color picker grows too much (attached a screenshot). Having an option to set the scale in the widget settings would help much with this issue. Having a checkbox to change between horizontal and vertical layout independently of the orientation of the parent panel would be also useful. |
Created attachment 96036 [details] screenshot of colorpicker applet On a panel with enough height, the Color Picker applet could arrange its two icons vertically instead of horizontally. Then, the icons would not be so big (see screenshot).
