this is also a problem i am facing regular. i would suggest an approach, that is orientated towards filters on components. I.e. one could select all components, a subset of them or just a single one. I'm surprised that this has been reported in 2015 and it hasn't been addressed yet. This is a no brainer. Please no user customized "filters" on components. Just search everything and organize the search results by component, visually. There is no need for the user to "filter" anything, only to select the appropriate search result.
