Description Geoff King 2015-07-04 17:10:06 UTC
There is a menu command for deleting images. Please add a shortcut key to delete images also. All mac programs seem to use AppleKey+Delete.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 caulier.gilles 2015-07-04 17:14:52 UTC
By default the shortcut exist and is already set internally, but is not shown on menu.

Under Linux we have DEL to move to trash and SHIFT+DEL to delete file as well.

I can not find any delete shortcut that works under Mac. Tried delete plus variations on shift, ctl, AppleKey. The menu entry for "Move To Trash" is the only way I can delete.

Using binary package " digikam-4.11.0-Yosemite.pkg"

I still cannot delete without using the menus. The "delete" key acts like a backspace or left/up key to select other images.

I tried again with 4.12 and deleting using "fn+delete" from keyboard does work using the 4.12 for yosemite.
I would still like it to utilize "Apple+delete" instead like most other Mac programs. Would be great if that could be implemented.
Additionally, the menu (Image -> Move To Trash) should indicate the shortcut command, currently that is blank.

Alternative : edit keyboard shortcuts through Settings menu and relevant dialog.

Okay I was able to use the Digikam Settings menu to change the shortcut. Just learned something new. I guess I never dug deep enough in to that menu.
Maybe it could be made as default on Mac, but for now I would consider it resolved.
