Still reproduces in 5.11.4. Launcher icons do resize to a certain point, but then they reach a maximum size and don't get any bigger. I thought that maybe the maximum size was controlled by the Icons KCM, but none of those settings had any effect the way they do for the the kickoff icon, for instance. it's been bugging me too and until recently I used Icon launchers instead which do scale but don't get replaced when the app is launched. However, now that I need more open windows, I reverted back to "show a launcher when not running" to reclaim the space but was reminded of this "bug". It would be nice if the launcher icon would follow the taskbar height as Icon launchers do. Here is a video to explain the problem: https://youtu.be/cApzBCtp0dI Looks like an old issue. Setting it to needs more info. Please if this is not an issue any more let us know. Bugs placed into NEEDSINFO status will receive a reminder if the ticket: Is at least 15 days old Has not received any comment within 15 days If a bug remains in NEEDSINFO for another 15 days with no comment, it will be closed as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME. This issue was confirmed and is definitely still an issue. Please don't put bugs in NEEDSINFO WAITINGFORINFO status just because they're old--especially not if they've been marked as confirmed. At least try to reproduce them yourself first. What's going on here is that the icon height is restricted to a maximum size determined in the Icons KCM. Yes, this is confusing. I's like to remove all the global icon size controls in the Icons KCM because they apply to seemingly random things in seemingly random ways. This is fixed in Plasma 5.27 4 where the "Panel icon size" concept no longer exists and is hence not respected by anything anymore. Yep, can confirm I am also getting this on a fresh install of kde Developer Edition as of 26/11/2023, on both wayland and X11 (In reply to Zoey Ahmed from comment #7) > Yep, can confirm I am also getting this on a fresh install of kde Developer > Edition as of 26/11/2023, on both wayland and X11 https://imgur.com/a/xswwduH Here is an example of it happening with firefox Not sure why this bug is reappearing in KDE 6 Alpha. Looks like I closed this bug report inappropriately, since the panel icon size setting has nothing to do with pinned app launcher icons in the traditional task manager. I can confirm it's still an issue in Plasma 6. I'll throw it on the pile of things to investigate. |
