Sentry Crash Report:

Description Shmerl 2015-04-14 18:37:08 UTC
When trying to connect to Slack service XMPP gateway, KDE Telepathy just sits indefinitely with "connecting" message in the UI.

This was also reported here with some logs: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=230&t=123909

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Martin Klapetek 2015-04-16 10:04:42 UTC
Thanks for the report

As can be seen from the log in the forums:

WOCKY_CONNECTOR_ERROR_SESSION_FAILED (#14): Session iq response invalid

...I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it is very likely a Telepathy/gabble bug. Is it possible to try connecting with Empathy? Make sure you create new account in Empathy, don't use the one you already have in Telepathy.

I'm able to reproduce this issue. Let me know if you need any information from me.
Comment 3 Martin Klapetek 2015-05-11 07:54:50 UTC
As comment #1 says, can you try with Empathy (create new account)?
Comment 4 Ian 2015-05-11 17:23:27 UTC
Does not appear to work in Empathy; hangs at "Connecting". I can post a log if it'd help, but I'm not sure where to find it.
Comment 5 Martin Klapetek 2015-05-12 13:57:44 UTC
Cool, so that means it's most likely a Telepathy problem, not necessarily in KDE Telepathy. Unfortunately there's not much I can do other than forward you to bugs.freedesktop.org to file a new bug in there, product Telepathy and component gabble, it will be helpful to include the gabble log from ktp-debugger.

Feel free to post the reported bug link back here for tracking.
