Hi B7, Thanks for your report. Are you sure you are using a Krita 2.9 beta? If so, could you check with Krita 2.9.1? There was at least one beta where using a tablet caused a big slow-down. If that doesn't matter, something else must be up... What graphics card and which driver do you have? Hello and thanks for quick support. I am actually testing Krita version 2.9.0 I can't google anywhere how to install version 2.9.1 To install Krita 2.9.X, the only method proposed is: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dimula73/krita sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install krita-2.9 krita-2.9-dbg Now run the following commands to create the icons: cd /opt/project-neon/share/ && sudo cp -r applications/ /usr/share/ cd /opt/project-neon/share/ && sudo cp -r icons/ /usr/share/ sudo ln -s /opt/project-neon/bin/krita /usr/bin/krita Is there a method to install 2.9.1 on Mint ? If not, is there a method to update from 2.9.0 to 2.9.1 ? That should work exactly the same on mint as on ubuntu. Also, the kubuntu backports ppa should have 2.9.1. I suspect, though, that this is exactly the same problem as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341058 and due to a graphics card/driver problem. As an outlier possibility, it might be cinnamon that does something that breaks Krita's opengl canvas: I've seen that before, but that was a long time ago. Hi, B7! Could you generate a performance report for me? First update Krita to the latest 'krita-testing' package in Krita Lime and then follow this manual: http://nonaynever.ru/kwiki/krita/BugWritingGuidelines#Painting_performance_bug After testing, attach the zip file and reopen the report by setting it to REOPENED state :) Created attachment 95785 [details]

The same problem is occurring in my environment (Ubuntu 14.04 + Wacom Bamboo + Krita 2.9.9 with OpenGL).
I attach a log file.

Krita log file
Hello,
I have problem when drawing with my Wacom Intuos small. When I draw a stroke, it feels like heavy/ slow/ lagging/ whatever you call it. It takes much time to only draw one line/ stroke. I use Krita 2.9.10 on Elementary OS Freya. I think it's about rendering so I tried to turn on OpenGL support but OMG it's being more lagging, so I turned it off again. However, I don't have problem when I draw with touch in my Wacom or with mouse, but here I want to draw with stylus/ pen.
I attach the log file for inspecting.
my system spec: Acer Aspire One 722 AMD dual-core 1.0 GHz with AMD Radeon HD Elementary OS Freya Krita 2.9.10 via Krita Lime PPA Brush that I often use is HB and 2B pencil. With the release of Krita 3.0, we have changed so much that I'm afraid there isn't much we can do with this report anymore. If you're still experiencing slowdowns and have an AMD CPU/GPU, uncheck the Texture Buffer option and check the Disable vector optimization (for AMD CPUs) option. |
