Currently, tags are stored in the akonadi database only. For some resources, like local folders, I would like to see the tags stored also in the xattr of the file, similar to what baloo does with regular files. In my opinion, if akonadi is only a cache, then deleting the database should yield as few data loss as possible.

The Tag resource is gone, but tags are now fully supported by Akonadi internally so they could be written back by resources.
