What do you seen in debugview.exe ad digiKam runtime trace ? After a while of normal use, Digikam will not start anymore. After removal and reinstallation it will work again. And what do you seen with debugview program as trace while startup when problem appears ? When you said after a moment of normal use, how many items do you add in collections ? Gilles Caulier I have around 30,000 items on a SMB share, mostly JPEGs and a few AVI and MP4 videos. Thanks for the hint with the anti-virus, I will check that out. The video files can be also the problem, especially with Exiv2 shared lib, but i don't see any trace of Exiv2 dysfunction with a video file. I have now shut down the AV and started Digikam as administrator to avoid and issues with access rights, but it's still the same: the process just hangs there in the task manager, no GUI displayed. Very strange. There is no digiKam error in fact. It just locked by something. I suspect seriously an external application which do the job... Hum google help a little : Look the trace on this file : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364035 It's very similar... I don't think this is very similar: in my case the application just hangs, it does not crash or produce any error messages. Also the debug log doesn't show any errors. I have googled and came up empty-handed, really. That's why I chose to reply to this post. |
I start digikam 4.5 on Windows 7. I get the previews but no action when click any button. After some time it reacts with the windowstitle "keine Rückmeldung" ("no Responding"). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start digikam Actual Results: "keine Rückmeldung" ("no responding") I deleted digikam4.db and thumbnails-digikam.db. digikam came up and asked for the place to search for the pictures. After some time it opens with the structure of the "picture"-directory.., and hangs again, "no responding".
