I feel you may have omitted one of the rules of Spider solitaire:
every column must have a card in it before a new row is dealt.  

I am not sure if this is an official rule but both versions I played before
this one required it.  The versions were Spider Solitaire on the
Windows XP operating system and the AisleRiot Solitaire version 3.10.2
on the Xubuntu operating system.  I noticed in a Demo game that a new
row of cards was being dealt even though some columns were empty and 
tested it in regular play.  I am using the 2-suit option in Spider.

By not enforcing this rule, the  Spider solitaire is a little
easier, I feel.  This is because the player has the option of putting
cards in all the columns or not.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Play a game  until a column can be cleared.
2.  Use Deal Row to get the next 10 cards.
3.


Expected Results:  
Deal Row should refuse to deal and show a message requiring every column to have a card.

Thanks for the report dc. Are you able to find a rule book for Spider that is widely recognised as "the" (or official) rulebook to follow, that way it can be used to generate the logic in kpat?

I guess the bug status is "reported". The problem still exists.

I used *Official Rules of Card Games*, 55th Edition, 1968 by The United
States Playing Card Company as the source for the rules of the game.
