Can you verify whether running the command xset -display :0 dpms force off turns off the screen (don't worry, it will turn on when you move the mouse)? If it does not work, this is a driver issue. I was having a similar problem after upgrading to Kubuntu 15.04. I finally solved it today by removing ~/.kde/share/config/powermanagementprofilesrc, logging out, and logging back in. Nevermind, my problem persists :( Is this reproducible with a more recent version of Plasma or Kubuntu? Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
