This needs to be distinguished by: - is the widget present on a panel (used in all activities, no need to filter) - is the widget only present on non-panel containments (needs to be filtered by activity) I agree that it is a usability problem if there is a checkbox even if a widget is only on the desktop of a different Activity. If implementing the proposed solution is technically difficult, I'd vote for simply removing the checkmark feature. When chosing for a widget to use, widgets used on other activities have a "check" mark ("v"). This is confusing. The widget explorer should be aware of which widgets are used on the current activities.
