This affects vertical panels.
My application launcher is HUGE.. it takes about a quarter of my panel.

In KDE 4, they set the height of the application menu to be really small..
This needs to be handled generally.

I cannot ship this to my clients until this is fixed... so it's at least a normal.
(btw, I'm planning on working on these bugs myself)
