This also happens on my laptop with two internal hard drives (SSD and HDD). The HDD spins up when I open an image in Gwenview. It increases the hard drive wear and causes higher power consumption. *** Bug 339351 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Does this still happen with a recent KF5 version of Gwenview, like 17.x? I literally don't even have any spinning hard-drives to test with any more.. I got rid of the USB drive I had, and now I only have an SSD in main computer and lot of SD cards.. Maybe some one else can plug a spinning USB drive in and test a recent version of gwenview.. Yeah, me neither!
