1/ you must take a look to 4.0.0 releas where a lots of improvement/fixes have been done in Import tool. 2/ Look into Camera config setup panel. There is an option to use image metadata instead file time stamp to populate import icon-view. This require more time to parse items from camera device, but in this case date is taken from Exif and Markernotes. I use it to filter my high speed shots from my Sony A77 (12 images/s)... Gilles Caulier Thank you Gilles for your answer. I am migrating from 12 (???) years using Windows XP to Kubuntu 14, a tough job and many things to learn and problems to solve ... I am not about to give up !!! I am about (to learn how) to update DigiKam. I got DigiKam 3.5.0 when installing Kubuntu. Pierre Bonjour Gilles, I updated DigiKam to 4.0.0 version (I succeeded ...). Now it is OK: in the import window, dates displayed are correct: - date underneath each photo, - both dates on the right when a photo is selected. From my understanding, in the import window it is still impossible: - to sort files (photos, videos, panorama photos) by shooting date (for selecting files easily) - to import files in a folder created automatically for each shooting date (folder name would be shooting date) - to rename files automatically (shooting date and time or typed prefix +number) this would facilitate the job of the photographer !! Pierre >- to sort files (photos, videos, panorama photos) by shooting date (for selecting files easily) Look in View/Short by Date menu. Work fine here... >- to import files in a folder created automatically for each shooting date (folder name would be shooting date) Work fine here. I use option from Settings panel from right sidebar. Option is "Auto-creation of Albums" and sub-option is "Date-based sub-abums". I use ISO format. >- to rename files automatically (shooting date and time or typed prefix +number) this would facilitate the job of the photographer !! This option exist but it still a problem reported in these entries : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329438 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322539 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307253 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314441 Gilles Caulier Bonjour Gilles, Thank you for your answer. I had to look for the numerous options of DigiKam ... Everything is OK except renaming files, I hope this option will be corrected soon. Pierre Yes, renaming still has a problem. This is already reported in another file from bugzilla. Gilles Caulier |
