Not going to change Could you please explain why not? In terms of usability it doesn't make sense to waste space in a GUI layout. Because we've been developing Okular for more than 10 years and noone came up with a better solution. And I don't see you suggesting a better one, i wasn't even able to understand what you meant. You can right-click the navigation panel, and change icon size and/or remove text labels. This way, you can save some space, which I guess is what you were trying to do with the proposed splitter. Icons not on the side
I uploaded a screenshot of what could be done to "save space". I personally prefer to not have the icons on the side, since most of the time, pdfs are read left->right and right -> left, wasting the little bit of space means that the pdf might not fit at an ideal zoom level. Regarding comment #5: If I had to save space here, I would click on that icon again to hide the page navigator. That's also the reason, why the icons are not displayed above or below the navigator; they would either need to jump around when hiding the navigator, or the wasted space would even be bigger. |
