If it's unclear, you can click on them, and then it'll be clear. Would you please do some mockups (i.e. take a screenshot and paint over it) of how you would want this fixed? I'm not pretty sure what's your expectation here. Created attachment 86556 [details]

Well, I thought the foxit reader screenshot gave a good impression.
But here you go (see attachment).
It doesn't has to be any fancy stuff, basically there just has to be a visual clue that the left column (rectangle) interacts with the right one. Currently they are total discrete things in GUI.

Just to add, this visual clue is IMHO common practice and can be found in various other KDE software. Attached is an example how it is done in Calligra Sheets.
Image from comment #3 seems acceptable, if someone wants to spend their time on that, we will review the code Basically the complaint here is that the side tabs don't have a tab-like appearance. Fixed in Okular 1.11.0 with https://invent.kde.org/graphics/okular/-/merge_requests/156 |
