Overall you guys do a great job and I hope this isn't too difficult. Normally open source is a quality product, but when problems like this happen, it makes it difficult to recommend to someone who may switch to open source. People who listen to music on their pc are likely to use this. It would seem to me that back in 2009 when I made the switch from Windows, Kscd didn't have these issues and worked as advertised. I don't understand how software evolves from working just fine to having problems like this. Nevertheless this isn't enough to change my mind about open source. Just keep up the good work so I can convince people to switch away from Windows. 2. is bug 303912 3. is bug 234332 Note that kscd has no maintainer to adapt it to changes in underlying software (Phonon, udev/udisks etc.), so if it worked previously, it does not mean someone broke it intentionally.
