Qt bug: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-27809 More or less a dupe of bug #316358 The scripts in ~/.kde/env may delay the activitymanager startup, causing the activity fetching thread to run for a long time, raising chances to run into this. Created attachment 83122 [details]

I was opening a new KDE session, that's all. KDE was still launching.
