Not sure if this is the same problem or not, but I have a BenQ monitor that has DCR (Dynamic Contrast Ration) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrast_ratio#Dynamic_Contrast_.28DC.29 When DCR is enabled the contrast of the monitor is changed automatically depending on what's displayed on the monitor at that moment. This behaviour is very noticeable in Konsole, since it has grey text with a black background, so with a few lines of text, the monitor is dim, and when more text is displayed the monitor becomes brighter. Check your monitor settings (using the buttons on the monitor) and see if you have that option enabled. If this really was caused by the monitor, it would not be visible in a screen shot saved to a file. If unsure, please attach one. Christopf, Since this is random and not creatable readily, I'll have to wait for the next occurrence. My display is a 27" Samsung TV using the HDMI connector and is fairly new (< 1 year). George... reopen when you have more info about if this Konsole's issue This bug has had its resolution changed, but accidentally has been left in NEEDSINFO status. I am thus closing this bug and setting the status as RESOLVED to reflect the resolution change. Andrew, Thanks for your information... I haven't seen the problem since my last communication.
