I can confirm this. In my case i use a number of dirs filled with wallpapers which reside in my fileserver that i access through NFS. Whenever kdesktop is launched or i start the Background kcontrol module it takes easily 20 seconds of heavy network access for it to appear. Also, the desktop freezes everytime it changes the wallpaper. *** Bug 99317 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** kdesktop is no more developed. On KDE 4 the plasma-desktop behave differently and this bug is no more valid. |
