It was my first reaction to the new locker too. But what if the user has several virtual desktops with different wallpapers? I guess it would be better to let the user define a background for the locker (wallpaper, color). -> Bug 312828: simple locker should allow for custom background Well, to be honest, I have not thought about situation like this.
