I can confirm this problem with a Galaxy S4. Hi, i finally found time to check and it happend with my S3 too. Don't know the cause yet, but I'll investigate. I'm not sure what I did but I was able to create a folder through kio-mtp the other day. It seems to be errattic. Same problem here with Toshiba AT300SE tablet. OS: Arch Linux + KDE 4.10.4 kio-mtp: 0.75-1 libmtp: 1.1.6-1 Same problem here with Nexus 4, offical Android 4.3, connect to Fedora 19 KDE. But only can't create file/folder in toplevel folder, I can crete file/folder in subfolder, like "Download" or "Picture". It also can't not replace/rename/edit file directly, only can delete it then add it again. (In reply to comment #5) > But only can't create file/folder in toplevel folder, I can crete file/folder in subfolder, like "Download" or "Picture". Yes, that seems to be the case, I was able to reproduce it now. I will try to fix is as soon as possible, but the next two weeks are a little bit hectic. But stay tuned. > It also can't not replace/rename/edit file directly, only can delete it then add it again. That is a completely different Problem, please open a new Bug. It might be that some devices also don't support renaming, in which case the kio-slave should fallback to automatic download/delete/reupload. But please open a new bug so we can discuss that there. Please link the new bug report here so we can subscribe. (In reply to comment #6) > That is a completely different Problem, please open a new Bug. Created https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325574 same here, it is possible to create files directly on the device but not with dolphin and kio-mtp Fixed in https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/base/kio-mtp/repository/revisions/3f005590cb08f01fe395bcdd3d8ee76a0c1f4d99 Thanks to Marius Nicolae for sending the patch in. The problem is half-fixed for me. It now can create folders but it gives the same error, also cancelling any file copy process in progress. When I refresh, the folder is there, and I can just drag and drop again and tell it to "Write Into" and continue the copy. This problem is not fixed on Fedora 20 and KDE 4.11.3. Sudhir, kio_mtp is not yet part of the KDE Software Compilation. If you installed it from your distribution's repositories, ask them to update to lastest git version of kio_mtp. Galaxy S5, problem persists KF5 though, so don't know if that makes a difference... like everything else with this framework |
