Description dckorah 2013-03-01 14:57:57 UTC
On a dual head KDE installation, with kdm as the login manager, if the mouse moves to the monitor that doesnt have the input window, the keyboard input doesnt work.

This is particularly annoying on my laptop that has a new(ish) nvidia driver (or may be X) that poorly handles dual head login screen. The login always appear on the laptop screen, which is docked and closed. So I normally type with my eyes closed and it used to work ok (even when I used to move the mouse) till I updated to KDE 4.10.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install 4.10 on a dual head machine
2. When the login appears, move the mouse to the monitor/display that does not have the login window
3. Try typing and the keystrokes will not make any effect till you move the mouse back to the login window
Actual Results:
Unable to login till the mouse is moved back

Expected Results:
Should be able to login no matter where the mouse pointer is.

This behaviour repeats with the new screen locker; if that helps debugging!

I can confirm the bug using kde 4.10 on gentoo. It's been so for.. ever i think.
For some reason on my setup, the login window appear on the right screen, while the mouse is by default in the middle of the left screen. As such i can't connect until I move my mouse to the right screen. Each time.
