I completely agree. I would say that "Auto completion for abbreviations" is simply useless as it is implemented! Without a way to cancel abbreviation auto completion it is simply impossible to write words which start with the same letters of any abbreviation. For the sake of consistency, I think it should work like "Auto completion for LaTeX markup", which is less intrusive by just providing suggestions. If not, it should provide a way to undo the replacement. In this case it would be nice to include abbreviations in the suggestion box even if "Auto completion for abbreviations" is off (). unfortunately, the problem still reproduces as of 2022-12-27
