Description Mircea Kitsune 2012-11-19 19:38:56 UTC
For the Banners & Pictures -> Slide Show screen saver, transition effects are extremely slow. Once the screen saver starts, the screen slowly begins to get filled with parts of the image (dot by dot for some transitions or fading for others) at a very slow rate. If I was to let if continue, it would probably take +3 minutes for it to finish the task. I had to disable transition effects to use this screen saver. I also have the "Resize images" and "Random order" settings enabled.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Just give the Slide Show screensaver a folder with one or more images in it and start it up. If the issue happens, it will take more than a minute for the image to be slowly shown on the screen.

[WORKAROUND] - If anyone else is having this issue and wishes to use this screen saver, you can disable transition effects by opening ~/.kde4/share/config/kslideshow.kssrc and adding the line EffectsEnabled=false somewhere.
