The resulting odt document is using <text:soft-page-break/> To inform about page breaks. Seems like words does not care about them atm. Created attachment 76586 [details]

lassi: soft breaks are not something that should always result in a pagebreak. It's a hint that this is where the app that saved the file started a new page that said, i can indeed see that we seem to put the images on top while LO doesn't. I know that horizontally we prevent overlap - I wonder if it's something similar that happens vertically . As for the first image in the .doc file: I think it has something to do with keep lines or paragrapahs together properties Thank you for reporting this bug in KDE software.
