This seemed to stem from when I ran a task from konsole using sudo instead of kdesudo. After that, my system would no longer shut down using menu items and so on. (Surely this can be prevented - I had no idea of this rule.) After reinstalling kubuntu 12.04, the problem was resolved - I can now shut down as normal, my laptop sees external monitors, and so on. But, the reinstall was not seamless. Broadcom drivers were not installed and I had to download them first using a cable connection. Thanks for reporting your bug. Since reporting Krandr has since been replaced by KScreen. It is available in the Plasma 4 series, and is default in Plasma 5 onwards. I hope this solves your issue. If you still have a problem after upgrading please reopen a new bug under kscreen. Thanks |
