Sometimes it happens, the application icon of some applications (pidgin, transmission - the best example) is displayed incorrectly, like on the screenshot. It happens since the time of OpenSUSE 11.4 (KDE 4.6 or 4.7 - I don't remember). And sometimes, when I reload this application for a few time, the icon displays normally. When the icon is displayed incorrectly, the top left corner (the quarter) is displayed only.

I can't reproduce it here with Pidgin, using Plasma 4.9.

Which Plasma version are you using?

This smells a bit like a bug in those applications, btw.

In the last version of KDE (4.9.1) this bug reveals for the first time. Early this bug revealed right each time I launch pidgin. Now I saw it yesterday for the first time and can't repeate again. :(

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5.
