What you have on your desktop are symbolic links. Simply copy the .desktop files instead of linking them, and they won't show up as links. Indeed they look like links. user@axel:~/Desktop$ ls -l razem 12 lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 48 lip 3 09:26 chromium-browser.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 44 lip 3 09:25 dolphin.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/kde4/dolphin.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 39 lip 3 09:26 firefox.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 61 lip 3 14:19 gmusicbrowser.desktop -> /home/user/.local/share/applications/gmusicbrowser.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 41 lip 3 09:26 kate.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/kde4/kate.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 42 lip 3 09:28 kcalc.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/kde4/kcalc.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 44 lip 3 09:31 konsole.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/kde4/konsole.desktop -rw-r--r-- 1 user 1001 7102 lip 1 19:10 Plik tekstowy lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 57 lip 3 14:19 rhythmbox.desktop -> /home/user/.local/share/applications/rhythmbox.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 51 lip 3 09:25 systemsettings.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/kde4/systemsettings.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 43 lip 3 09:26 thunderbird.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 38 lip 3 14:20 tvtime.desktop -> /usr/share/applications/tvtime.desktop lrwxrwxrwx 1 user 1001 45 lip 3 09:29 writer.desktop -> /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/xdg/writer.desktop user@axel:~/Pulpit$ But I have them in my desktop folder. From where to where exactly should I copy them? This is all in desktop "Folder view" mode. But I added them from right mouse click → add new program shortcut. Actually when I use Kickoff and right click "add to desktop" the effect is the same. It also creates links. Only when I add icons to desktop from Kickoff in "default desktop" mode icon's text is regular. The problem is that I don't like "default desktop" mode. Is there any configuration file where font style for links are set? Maybe I just could change this setting and keep shortcuts. I don't understand your advice: "Simply copy the .desktop files instead of linking them, and they won't show up as links." In folder view when I use kickoff and option add (icon) to desktop it creates symbolic links. For example the content of entry for Dolphin is here: http://pastebin.com/JNzuJZzK And privileges cannot be changed. Content cannot be edited. http://i.imgur.com/38tQB.png Is it expected behaviour or a bug? (In reply to comment #3) > Is there any configuration file where font style for links are set? Well, copy as "make a copy" of the .desktop file This is not a bug but expected behavior. Ok. I got it. Instead of right click in Kickoff it is enough to just drug and drop an icon from Kickoff to desktop with left mouse, without clicking because it opens application. No need to unlock widget to do that. I think I thought it must be more complicated. :) Thank you for your help. But while we are about it I would expect that right click in kickoff and use of "add to desktop" option should also copy the entry (icon) but not create links on the desktop. I mean links to folder are ok, but links to programs seems to be out of place a litlle bit. This is not criticizm, I just don't get it why it was designed to create links in case of programs. |
