Hi,

what I mean with this request is simply the following:
Besides having the history, there could be a number of "slots" (3 would be a good number oder better configurable), you can directly copy to an paste from. The slots could be accessed by keycombos. For example you could copy to "slot 1" by holding down ctrl - 1 and mark the text to copy. Next time you press ctrl - 1 the slot is selected, so you can paste the data it is holding by middleclick.

This feature would have two major benefits:
* A persistent storage, no matter how often you select text
* A quick access to specific data, if you need to paste a handfull of clipboard entries on several positions and/or files (e.g. having 10 ssh-shells open to different systems you need to configure in the same way)

Of course there would be the need of a way to go back to "history-mode", this could be done by another keycombo or some sort of timeout or both (configurable)
