Description kdebugs 2012-05-28 05:20:09 UTC
This seems to be a regression from 4.7 (kubuntu 11.10), which I've observed on multiple installs of kubuntu 12.04 with 4.8.2. Without one of the programs being highlighted, there is no indication of which result will launch when pressing enter. (It seems to be always the top result.) If you press escape, or you move the mouse over the results, you can get the highlight and up/down selection back, but not until.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click the menu button, or it's related shortcut (Alt+F1).
2. Type some letters (e.g. "sys") to bring up multiple results.
3. Observe that none of the results is highlighted/selected.
4. Press the up and down arrow keys; notice that they do nothing.
5. Press [Esc] or move the mouse pointer over the list of results.
6. Notice how a result is highlighted/selected.
7. Press the up/down arrow keys; notice that they move the selection.
