Description Aleix Pol 2012-05-23 23:31:12 UTC
Since some days KDE Telepathy started doing weird things (wouldn't go online). I decided to remove all accounts and add them back, now I can't anymore and I keep getting this error message:

"To connect to this IM network, you need to install additional plugins. Please install the telepathy-haze and telepathy-gabble packages using your package manager."

Which is obviously wrong because these all are installed and used to work.

Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to the accounts kcm
2. add a gmail account
3. message box appears

Expected Results:
the wizard to add the gmail account doesn't appear

Check you do indeed have telepathy-gabble installed:
/usr/lib/telepathy/telepathy-gabble

could be a coincidence that the package manager removed it.

No, I already checked it. Also by forcing gabble to run manually, with Giorgos's help.

The problem was telepathy couldn't find the ktp services.
