Description K. A. Sayeed 2012-05-13 14:46:07 UTC
1. It is not possible to edit two or more Contact entries contained in the Address Book of KDE Kontact.

2. Once an Contact entry is being edited, if another entry needs to opened for reference or for copying and pasting into, the application does not allow it.

3. It is also not possible to edit or create entries in the Calendar, To-Do, Kmail, and Journal modules of the KDE Kontact application.

3. This is a REGRESSION from KDE Kontact, version 4.3.2, in which it was possible, not only to open more than one contact entry, but also to open or create entires in the Calendar, Journal, To-Do, and Kmail modules of KDE Kontact.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Contact entry or open an existing one for editing.
2. Now try to do any work in any other module such as Kmail or Journal.
Actual Results:
1. Cannot do any work in any other module or to open another contact entry in the Address Book.

Expected Results:
1. It should have been possible to open either another Contact Entry or to do work in the Journal, To-do, Kmail, or Calendar modules.

1. It is extremely inefficient to be restricted to only one module at a time. In many situations, it is necessary to open a Contact entry in the edit mode in order to make changes based on information obtained from other modules and vice versa.

2. The subsequent Akonadi server and related architectural and software engineering changes should have built and improved upon the existing functionality. Instead, it has only reduced the functionality and capability of the KDE PIM and thus reduced the efficiency that was once offered to the user in pre-Akonadi versions such as 4.3.2.
