I am experiencing the same problem described in bug 182104. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182104
I figured that it would be fairly simple to add an option to disable the animations in Slide Show completely. This could serve as a workaround for bug 182104 and would also benefit those of us who simply don't like the animations.

Comment #11 in that bug says how you can disable animations. It really needs a GUI option, though.

The screen locker architecture changed with Plasma 5. The classic screen savers are no longer supported. The 4.x series won't see any further feature development, so this feature request won't be implemented as it doesn't apply to our current version any more.

I want to thank you for your feature suggestion and I'm sorry that we were not able to provide the requested feature before we retired the affected component.
