Missing functionality from BoxSwitch effect which should be ported to QML based tabbox is the possibility to navigate through desktops showing previews of the virtual desktop.

This is still unresolved in 5.13.5-1; there are still no previews shown when switching desktop using the 'slide' effect.

Well, you marked bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297139 as a duplicated of this one, therefore I have difficulties seeing how this is not related.

Does Kwin display miniatures of windows as desktop indicators when switching desktops? Did I miss something?

If not, either reopen this bug, and remove the faulty duplicate resolution from my initial report.

These bug reports are five to six years old. We won't touch them any more and it doesn't make any sense to look at them - too much changed.

We have the functionality in walk through desktops to show previews of the desktops.
