Sentry Crash Report:

Description Radek Novacek 2012-03-09 15:25:26 UTC
User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1
Build Identifier:

When new message arrives the notification is shown via KNotification. But if I don't click on respond in given interval I'm no longer able to display the message. I think that the Instant Message Presence applet icon should change to indicate that message has been received.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Message is received
2. Don't click on notification

Actual Results:
The information that there is an unread message is lost.

Expected Results:
I should be able to check if there are unread messages.

When this happens, I'm no longer able to open the message. I can only click on contact who send the message to me (if I have read it from notification).

This isn't right, you should be seeing a flashing envelope StautsIndicator in the system tray.

Can you confirm you still have this problem?
Comment 2 Radek Novacek 2012-03-15 15:23:16 UTC
I found out that when message arrives new systray entry appears, called "KDE Daemon", but it's always hidden by default. Even if I change setting to "Always Visible", it won't appear and next message gets hidden too...

Radek, does this still occur to you? Can you specify which version of KDE Telepathy are you using?
Comment 4 Radek Novacek 2012-08-28 06:37:49 UTC
Yes, it's still the same even with KTP 0.5.0
Comment 5 Radek Novacek 2012-08-28 06:45:02 UTC
Huh, I checked .kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc and there were these two lines in systray configuration and both contained "KDE Daemon" entry. When I manually remove it from second line, it works.

alwaysShown=notifier,KDE Daemon,krb5-auth-dialog,Konversation,org.kde.networkmanagement,notifications,KMix
hidden=Nepomuk Controller,KDE Wallet Manager,KDE Daemon,KOrganizer Reminder Daemon,Klipper,Printer Applet

So it might be bug in systray applet configuration.

I think we've all seen this, marking as "NEW" and assigning to the correct module.

As this is almost certainly a plasma bug, can we open a bug there and mark that as blocking this.
