currently, on F16 if i open a file1.png and choose save as.. and change type to other (for example, tiff) the proposed name changes from file1.png to lalalala.tif (and lalalala file exists but i don't know why it chooses this name). Gwenview, Versión 2.8.4, KDE 4.8.4 (4.8.4) FEDORA 16 Kubuntu 14.04 KDE 4.13.0 I can reproduce this behavior with Kubuntu in Libreoffice (Writer, Impress). Create files a.odt, b.odt and c.odt in the same folder. Open c.odt -> Save As -> select diferent format -> The sugested name file changes from c.odt to b.doc In other computer with the same configuration some times the suggested name just disapear. In Ubuntu or Xubuntu ther is no problem, so I assume is the KDE dialog. F16 is old and EOL. Also i tried with Gwenview version 16.04.3 and when one tries to save "file1.png" to a JPG file, the new name sugestion is now "file1.jpg". So, in recent versions this is FIXED. Thanks.
