Version:           1.7.0 (using KDE 4.4.0) 
OS:                MS Windows

Windows 7 prof. 32Bits, Intel Dual Core 2 E6750
Installer: digiKam-installer-1.7-win32.exe
Right-click to a picture shows a context menu without any text. But the submenus are visible with text.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
mouse-Right-click to a picture shows a context menu without any text every time.

Actual Results:  
context menu without visible entries.see the attachment

Expected Results:  
context menu with visible entries

No any crash at all since the 1st installation, very nice tool.

Is there a reason you are using version 1.7? The 2.x versions have been on sourceforge for some time, with 2.5 as latest:

   http://sourceforge.net/projects/digikam/files/digikam/

Be sure to uninstall before upgrading

thank you for your quick response.
1st I did the uninstall of the older version 1.7
Unfortunately Version 2.5 crashes during every startup with EXEPTION 
ACCESS VIOLATION  followed by a hex-adress

now it works. I deleted the digikam4.db and digikam4.db-journal
then I restarted the application V2.5 and now it runs :-)

Glad to hear it is working. Could you check if you still experience the bug you are reporting? If not, we can close this bug report.

This problem is fixed since a while.

The 32 bits 5.8.0 pre release Windows installer can be tested here :
