Thanks for the suggestion, I was not aware about the inconsistency. Probably the action "Replace Location" (F6) can be discarded then completely (and for backward compatibility we could define F6 as alternative shortcut for Ctrl+L). But I'd like to check the behavior of other apps first regarding F6. Nice to hear that you like the improvements in Dolphin 2.0 ;-) We developers mostly get bug-reports only that tell us what is *not* working, so getting positive feedback is good for our motivation. In firefox you probabely want to change URL when typing Ctrl+L. In dolphin you maybe want to access a subdirectory or look for hidding ones typing '.'. So the current inconsistency seems to be convenient like the 'house wine', sometimes Merlot, Chianti: cheap, but you get used to it... But changing url is exactly what I want to do when I press CTRL+L For example, my workflow is CTRL+T , CTRL+L , ftp://..... Changing to a subdirectory is much easier just by starting to write the name of the subdir. Example: standing in /usr/lib (182 folders in my case). Just typing F will get me to the "Firefox" folder and I can press "enter" if I want to enter it. See bug 183821 comment #12 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 183821 *** |
