I have my panel on lower right corner coming from down to up. Virtual Desktop is set to show two columns and has 8 desktops, thus I have 4 rows and 2 columns on the panel. Sometimes during login the desktops are ordered into 2 rows and 4 columns irrespective what the panel is showing. 

I can reset it by adding or removing a column, apply and back to 2 columns and apply. However it is very annoying. I tend to use keyboard shortcuts to move from desktop to desktop (eg. left, right, up and down) and when this switch happens, I desktop order changes and directions don't match anymore.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Login.

Actual Results:  
Panel shows the order correctly, but the actual order is wrong as described in details.

Expected Results:  
The desktops should always be ordered as they are in the panel.

Duplicate of bug 273695. As described over there, the virtual desktops are rewritten in 4.8. If you are able to test it in the new version, and still see this bug, please tell us (in the parent bug). Thanks.
