There was a GSOC project this summer putting OTR into telepathy (our backend)

I had it all described to me at the desktop summit, it doesn't seem too much work, but we have an extra channel to support.

AFAIK the spec never got finalised, and I'm not sure if the changes got merged. That's a research task for someone.

I don't know how much it's due to the crowdsourcing Xavier is the main Empathy dev employed by Collabora.

This bug has had its resolution changed, but accidentally has been left in NEEDSINFO status. I am thus closing this bug and setting the status as RESOLVED to reflect the resolution change.
