More useful links added There was a GSOC project this summer putting OTR into telepathy (our backend) Relevant upstream telepathy bug which is full of trolls, idiots and troliots: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16891 Relevant upstream telepathy bug which has proposed spec, solution and what we need to implement as a client: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29904 I had it all described to me at the desktop summit, it doesn't seem too much work, but we have an extra channel to support. AFAIK the spec never got finalised, and I'm not sure if the changes got merged. That's a research task for someone.
