- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I've just logged into KDE. Then added a new activity and tried to add a panel to it.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

After logging in (I see the KDE loading animation, starting with disk and 3 other glyphs get resized finished by the big K) hearing the "logged in" sound clip nothing shows other than the background. I can use the mouse (right click brings out the context menu), pressing alt-tab brings out expose (small tiled windows) but after selecting any window expose just fades out and I'm stuck with the background again.

This doesn't happen with a new user's profile.  My profile started out as a Gnome one with ubuntu 11.04.

Adding the Activities panel, stopping and starting and tinkering with activities somehow breaks this curse.

The crashing is new, all the other is already happened a few times.
