found that the weather station applet does the same thing as lcd weather. At times the wicd is delayed in starting. Some one else investigated this issue and said the following: "Seems that the problem is not in the LCD weather station applet, but in weather dataengine or solid that does not detect network coming up. I'm not very familiar with those so I'm not sure if I can help further. Petri" Petri suggested kde.bug.org Solid did not dectect wicd state changes until KDE SC 4.7.2. Can you upgrade to 4.7.2 and test if this problem still happens? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 226022 *** hey, I just downloaded the new kernel 2.6.32-36-generic ,,, and I don't think they incorporated the changes you all made and resolved because the weather plamoids are now not working again On Tue, 22 Nov 2011 20:05:57 -0500, Lamarque V. It looks like the changes were not incorporated in this kernel upgrade. This problem has nothing to do with the kernel as far as I know. Are you using KDE SC 4.7.2 or 4.7.3? Anything below 4.7.2 is going to have this problem with Wicd. And even if there is a problem in the kernel from KDE point of view this is still a duplicate of #226022. Please, do not change that. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 226022 *** |
