Bug 282077

Thanks for your report. I can't reproduce the bug. What other tool did you use? Did you do something with that tool?

nice to meet u

well it's doing it when i use the freehand path drawing tool and come back to the brushes tool
for other information,firts one it's exactly as i said on the bug report, and now i'm just opening krita and try it... 

... o k ... it's maybe linked with a series of other bug because this is what i'm just noticed, 
if i select a tool, when appllying it on screen it's coming back to the last tool used just before as i had never click on the new one (bad english grammar i think, i'm french)

and if i select the calligraphy tool and roll it on the work surface it's make as a blank eraser...
i don't know if it's normal, i'm a beginner at krita
... also it's difficult to see if other bugs are recurrent if i don't know how to use krita in itself

my krita is the latest installed just today.

...it's maybe linked with my install packages of ubuntu ??? or with a qt4 config ?
and maybe ( i know it's make a lot of maybe..) the bug has alredeay been fixed and i'm just reporting some other symptoms of something already known.

The calligraphy tool does insert a vector shape, which means there also will be a shape layer. You can't paint on shape layer. Check if a new layer was created and switch back to the paint layer.

does it mean i must change of layer and switch back each time i'm changing of tools?

Only when you insert vector graphics. That is when you use the pencil or calligraphy tool or add a shape from the "Add shapes" docker.

you can close this topic, it's not a bug if i understand, it's my ignorance that's make me look like a stupid...
sorry for the time you spent on that...

please hide this bug report, i'm feeling really stupid... (i hope i'm not so much...)
the next time, bfore trying a software i will spend time reading the whole manual....

When painting the brush, along with the brush strokes, will not show.
