After some googling I found here : http://www.linuxnov.com/amarok-2-4-3-berlin-released-changelog-ppa-installation/ >Install Amarok 2.4.3 In Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal and Kubuntu 11.04 > >Run terminal > >sudo apt-add-repository ppa:blca/ppa/ubuntu > >sudo apt-get update > >sudo apt-get install amarok >>>>>>>>Official repository for Amarok still not updated yet well, you should update the official repo then because the version available is not usable and will cause amarok image some pain... well... adding "ppa:blca/ppa/ubuntu" repo still don't offer amarok for upgrade... give up... stick to "clementine", at least it works oob Please have a look here: http://kubuntu.org/news for announcements about newer versions. Also, you don't need 2.4.3 to solve this issue, it is already solve in 2.4.1, released since May. For updates of repositories of your distribution, please check with your distribution, this is out of our hands, we oat Amarok nly provide the source. It seems I'll have to wait until 11.10 is out then. Absolutely not: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-241-resolution-released. Please read that again, you need the backports-PPA, and it definitely is in there. As I said, the fix is already in Amarok 2.4.1, and 2.4.3 for Natty is to be released any day now. Ok, with this PPA, an amarok update appears... only with a full upgrade and some conflict to solve. I'll wait 11.10... it's safer... sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo aptitude update thomas@daisybox:~/Documents$ sudo aptitude upgrade Resolving dependencies... open: 6621; closed: 33286; defer: 578; conflict: 253 .The following NEW packages will be installed: akonadi-backend-mysql{a} libchm1{a} libgmp10{a} libkdcraw-data{a} libkexiv2-data{a} libkipi-data{a} libksane-data{a} libktorrent3{a} libraptor2-0{a} librasqal3{a} libyajl1{a} The following packages will be REMOVED: librasqal2{u} The following packages will be upgraded: akonadi-server gtk2-engines-oxygen kdegames-card-data kdegames-card-data-extra kdegraphics-libs-data kdelibs5-dbg kdewallpapers krosspython libakonadiprotocolinternals1 libgmpxx4ldbl libkipi8 libkonq5-templates libkontactinterface4 libksane0 libktorrent-l10n libokularcore1 libphonon4 librdf0 libsoprano4 marble-data okular-extra-backends oxygen-icon-theme phonon plasma-runners-addons plasma-scriptengine-python plasma-widget-kimpanel-backend-ibus printer-applet redland-utils shared-desktop-ontologies soprano-daemon system-config-printer-kde 31 packages upgraded, 11 newly installed, 1 to remove and 153 not upgraded. No need to update everything, although it just will update your KDE version with a lot of bugfixes. The kubuntu PPAs are officially maintained by the Kubuntu developers an perfectly save. |
