Upon reflection, I see that /usr/bin/update-notifier is a Gnome program, not a KDE program. I'm not sure how to run the corresponding KDE program, nor how to capture its output. Created attachment 63569 [details]
Gzip-compressed output of "dpkg -l" command.
Perhaps this is related? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/613412 Nope; after fixing the packagekit problem, the notifications problem remains. Just ran updates again, in the vain hope that this problem has been resolved somewhere. No such luck. Is there any other helpful information that I could provide? My apt sources list? update-notifier is developed by ubuntu. So report your problem to https://launchpad.net/update-notifier Thanks. Launchpad reports "update notifier must be configured in order for Launchpad to forward bugs to the project's developers." So I have visited https://launchpad.net/%7Emvo/+contactuser to send an inquiry to the chief developer, Michael Vogt. |
