[Comment from a bug report cleaner] The crash seems to be related to loading some fonts via Qt/fontconfig (for the NetworkManager widget in this case). May be you are using some non-default font which has some problem or your whole font installation has some kind of issue Regards Thanks for checking! I hadn't made any modifications to the fonts, this happened even after I did clean re-installs of Kubuntu 11.04 32-bit. However, Kubuntu 11.04 64-bit seems to work perfectly fine with very rare plasma crashes. Let me know if I can provide more information to help. *** Bug 283688 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Can you check if removing/renaming the file ".fonts.conf" helps? If yes, you probably need to report the bug to fontconfig developers. I recommend installing 4.8.0 from the kubuntu-ppa backports PPA. It might fix the crash, among other things. Seemed like a upstream bug that should be solved in qt 4.8. Closing as such. |
